![]() August 17, 2007 Dear Parents, The 2007-2008 school year is fast approaching! We have been working all summer to make sure that this year is going to be fantastic, and many changes have taken place. School will get its official start on Monday, September 10th. By that time, we will be all moved into our fantastic new space and have initiated the remodeling of one room needed to have a science lab. If you know anyone who would be willing to help with knocking out a wall or two and moving some plumbing, please contact Dr. Hollins at 603-224-0366. We will be having one day of orientation before school begins. This will be a day for students to get together, meet new students and staff, participate in group-building activities and generate guidelines for this school year. Students should arrive at the 100 Ten Rod Road location (farmhouse) between 8:30 and 9:00 on Thursday, September 6th and be picked up at 2:30 p.m. Students should come prepared to be outside and pack a healthy lunch. Our website is being updated to provide you information about the new school year. In addition to the school calendar, you should soon see profiles of new faculty and information about our curriculum this year. We are finalizing contracts with new faculty but among the new faces this year we are pleased to have Rebecca Marrs, the school’s new part-time Principal; Nikki Roy, who will be teaching Science and Algebra I; and Ed Doherty, who is signing on to teach upper levels of mathematics. Science and mathematics programs will continue as they were last year—with an integrated science program of 1/3 physics, 1/3 chemistry, and 1/3 biology. Mathematics is computer based with students moving at their own pace. This year, the integrated focus on History and English will be American history and literature. We plan to work in another Shakespearean play and theatre opportunity. At the moment we are packing the school and arranging for a transfer the last week in August. Then, we can set up phones and contact you for an open house. We want you to see the new space when it is set up. We plan on 25 students again this year and have just a few openings if you know of anyone who might be interested in attending the school. We are very excited to begin this new year and look forward to staying connected to you this year through bi-weekly parent notices. See you soon! Casey Robinson and Susan Hollins
